What is Wisconsin's State Flower?
Wisconsin State Flower - Wood Violet (Viola
papilionacea)
After Rhode Island's school children ballot,
Wisconsin decided to hold a vote very similar.
On Arbor Day 1908 the most popular flowers in
Wisconsin were selected by vote. A year later
to the day Wisconsin held a vote for the State
Flower, and the wood violet came out on top winning
almost twice as many votes as its second place
competitor.
