What is Washington's State Flower?
Washington State Flower - Coast Rhododendron
(Rhododendron macrophyllum)
In 1893 15,000 ballots were cast voting for the
official state flower of Washington. The outcome?
The Coast Rhododendron won 53% of the votes and
was confirmed by the Washington Senate. Sixty
years later to the day the decision was reconfirmed
by both houses.
