State Flowers
What is Oklahoma's State Flower?
Oklahoma State Flower - Oklahoma Rose (Rosa
odorata)
Oklahoma may be the latest state to adopt an
official state flower adopting the Oklahoma Rose
in 2004. Nevertheless, Oklahoma had a floral emblem
for quite some time; the mistletoe being adopted
in 1893. Gardeners however urged Oklahoma legislature
for years to adopt another that they would be
able to plant. So, in 2004, despite the Oklahoma
Rose ironically not being native to Oklahoma,
it was adopted as the official state flower.
