What is Massachusett's State Flower?
Massachusetts State Flower - Mayflower (Epigaea
repens)
The Mayflower, allegedly named by the Pilgrims,
was established as the official state flower of
Massachusetts in 1918 after being voted on by
roughly 150,000 school children. In 1925 the Mayflower
became protected flora in Massachusetts in 1925
in order to protect the endangered species.
