What is Maine's State Flower?
Maine State Flower - White Pine Cone and Tassel
(Pinus strobus)
The White Pine Cone and Tassel was adopted as
the official state floral emblem in February of
1895 after beg encouraged by "The National Garland
of Flowers" at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893.
Unusually, Maine is the only state that offers
a floral emblem that does not produce a flower
of some sort.
