Woodruff
Botanical Name: asperula odorata
Useage: used to flavor German May-wine
and other drinks
Herb Details: Woodruff is a perennial
plant in the family Rubiaceae, native to Europe,
North Africa and Western Asia. The plant is strongly
scented, the sweet scent being derived from coumarin.
This scent increases on wilting and then persists
on drying, and the dried plant is used in pot-pourri
and as a moth deterrent.
