Frogs
Frogs
Q. I live in the northern state of Mexico
Coahuila near the Texas border (just 200
miles) and is so dry and hot weather here
during most of spring and summer......a
very little rain also or storms. When I
was watering (I have just 40 metres of grass
one "Laurel de la India" tree
two Ashes four bouganvilas some Ficus and
five little rose bushes) I found a frog
jumping around. How bad or good is it for
my garden? How about even many are around?
What do they eat... just bugs or also roots?
A. Any frogs who live in the grass or ponds
nearby will eat up lots of slugs snails
grasshoppers flies and many other insects.
They are very beneficial to gardeners. Do
not worry about them eating your plants'
stems and/or roots. They eat insects and
that will decrease the invasion upon your
plants. Even if you have many around there
is no concern.
