Poison Ivy Spray
A concentrated vinegar-and-salt spray dries out poison ivy's leaves and roots, offering a chemical-free way to knock back small patches.

Wear gloves & long sleeves
Ingredients
1 gallon white vinegar
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon dish soap
Instructions

Combine the vinegar, salt, and dish soap in a garden sprayer, stirring until the salt dissolves.

Fully protect skin with gloves and long sleeves, then spray poison ivy leaves thoroughly on a dry, sunny day.

Reapply every few days as needed — this recipe kills what it touches but doesn't reach roots, so regrowth is common.
Caution: This spray also kills grass and desirable nearby plants — use only as a spot treatment, and never touch treated poison ivy without gloves, since the plant's oil remains active even after it's wilted.
