Moose

In northern gardens near wooded areas, moose can browse shrubs and young trees down to bare branches — their size means fencing and physical barriers matter far more than sprays.

Physical Barriers Come First

A sturdy fence at least 8 feet tall is the most reliable way to keep moose out of a garden, since sprays and scents that work on smaller animals often aren't enough to deter an animal their size. Individual tree wraps protect young saplings from bark stripping in winter.

Never Approach

Unlike deer or rabbits, moose can be genuinely dangerous if startled or protecting young. Give them a wide berth and let them move on in their own time rather than trying to chase them off.
