INSECT CONTROL RECIPE
Aphid Chaser
A garlic-and-mint spray that aphids simply avoid — this recipe repels rather than kills, so it's gentle enough for repeat use around buds and new growth.
Prep: 15 min + overnight steep
Yields: about 1 quart
Organic-friendly
Ingredients
1 whole bulb garlic, cloves separated and peeled
1 cup fresh mint leaves
1 quart water
1 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap
Strainer and spray bottle
Instructions
1
Blend the garlic cloves and mint leaves with a small amount of the water until smooth.
2
Pour into a jar, add the remaining water, cover, and let steep overnight.
3
Strain out the solids, then stir in the dish soap so the spray clings to leaves.
4
Mist plants prone to aphids, focusing on new growth and the undersides of leaves.
Tip: Reapply weekly and after rain — since this recipe repels rather than kills, its effect fades once the scent washes off.
