INSECT CONTROL RECIPE

All Purpose Insect Spray

A soap-and-oil base handles most common soft-bodied pests at once, so you don't need a different bottle for every bug in the garden.

Allpurposeinsectspray
Prep: 10 minutes
Yields: about 1 quart
Organic-friendly

Ingredients

1 quart warm water
1 tablespoon mild liquid dish soap
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Spray bottle

Instructions

1

Combine the water, dish soap, and vegetable oil in a spray bottle and shake well.

2

Shake again immediately before each use, since the oil separates from the water over time.

3

Spray directly onto insects and both sides of affected leaves until lightly coated.

4

Reapply every 5 to 7 days, or after rain washes off the residue.

Tip: Test on one leaf first and wait 24 hours — some plants, especially those with fuzzy or waxy leaves, are sensitive to soap sprays.
